RE: Back to the Garmin GPS question

NO!! I don't expect them to give us map updates free BUT...$70+ is high. It's like buying a new car for $20,000 and then having to pay $5,000 for new tires every two years. If they made the map update cost about $20 THAT would be reasonable.

RE: Generator fuel line

I recently just replaced the last 4 ft or so of the fuel line. The existing fuel line near the frame rails looked pretty good so I got a brass connecter and replaced the rubber line from there. But I probably will have to replace the entire line in a few years.

Back to the Garmin GPS question

I just checked on E Bay. Yes you can buy an update CD for about $60 with shipping. BUT!! it says that you can only update ONE unit with it. So I guess I can't split the cost with a couple of friends that have similar units. Somethin's rotten here!

Garmin GPS

I have a Garmin GPS that I bought a year and a half ago. Someone told me that if I want to download new maps I have to go to Garmin's website and pay about $50. Is that true???

RE: slides

my Last 32 ft travel trailer had a slide, nice. My new (new to me) Class a has no slide . Don't miss it one bit. Slides are nice when you stop and in the way when your moving. And on an older coach ,one more potential problem. No Thanx

RE: I have no clue what I'm asking but I would like your help!

If you go for a Ford chassis then get at least a '99 and up. The V 10 is more fuel efficient than the older 460. PLUS the chassis has a wider track which makes it far more stable. The same with the older Chevys... the 454 was a gas hog and the old chassis was narrow and swayed like a boat.

Castaways RV Park Ocean City Md.

Anyone been to this new park in Ocean City? Is it finished or will it be fully operational by next summer? How does it compare to Frontiertown? Thanks

RE: 2005 Winnebago Adventurer- please adivse on unit

You are in a great spot. You have nothing to trade so you should get a much better deal. On this (or any other coach) I would look at NADAs low-retail price and take off AT LEAST an additional 15%. Four years ago I bought a'99 Class A that the dealer had listed for $44,995 reduced to $39,995...I got it for $31,000. I just told the dealer that is all I could afford and attempted to walk away. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't...It worked for me.

RE: dont buy a coachmen class a motorhome!

If I were you I would NEVER buy another Coachmen product...But with that story of yours, you hadn't convinced me or most anybody else on this forum to follow suit.

RE: E-Z Pass in your MH

I have an EZ Pass account. When I called to get another tag for my motorhome,I told the clerk that it was a motorhome and it was a SeaBreeze. When I got the tag the paperwork said that it was a SAAB. So for the last four years I've been paying the same rate as a car. Never had a problem yet.

Figured out Why Ford v 10 won't start

Yesterday I posted a question asking about my intermittent starting problems. While I was cleaning the coach today I tried to start it and all I got was the same clicks. I lifted the shift lever harder toward PARK and it started. I put the lever in R or D and got the same non-starting clicks. So I guess that my neutral safety switch may need an adjustmet OR I'll just pull up on the lever every time I try to start it. Simple HUH???

'99 Ford Class A V 10 won't start...sometimes

I've owned this coach for about three years and lately (in the last couple of months roughly every tenth time I take it out) I turn the key to the start position and Zip, nothing, nada. I release it and try again...starter engages and it fires right up.Sometimes if I hold it in the start position and wait a few seconds ,the starter engages. But today, I had to try to start it about 6 or 7 times before it started. But after I got to the end of my trip of 200 miles,I shut it off and waited about 10 minutes and it started immediately. When I'm attempting to start it (and it don't)I hear a slight click from somewhere.Sounds like a relay or solenoid click, but its hardly audible and I haven't figured out where it's coming from. Any ideas?? P>S> I've checked cleaned and tightened all the battery connections at the batteries,

RE: Walmart more heart then KOA

Yeah!!! bashing all KOAs because of a few bad experiences may be unreasonable, but if the common thread was, say NY state, or say, Florida campgrounds had so many bad ones people will say never go camping in NY or never go camping in Florida. Sometimes a few bad apples CAN spoil the whole barrel.

Lake George RV Park

I'm going to Lake George RV park this coming week. I've never been there before. It's costing over $500 for a week. I sure hope that it's worth it.Any opinions out there??

RE: Taking the Class A North on I95 - Yikes!!!

The fastest trip I ever made from Florida to NY (and continue on to Ct.) was I-95 halfway thru NC... pickupI-26 west to I-77 North...to I-81 all the way to Scranton Pa...pick-up I-84 to Conn. You avoid all tolls ,all bridges, a lot of truck traffic and most of the lousy part of I-95. Going the oposite way I made it from NY to the Florida border in 19 hrs (by car)including stopping for dinner and breakfast and a few bathroom breaks, without speeding. The mileage is similar to the I 81 to Rt 17 to I 95 route. It was ,I believe, 1000 miles from the NY/Pa border on I 84 to the Florida border.

RE: Extended Warranty

Hey Firemedic...I sleep at night knowing that I didn't get ripped off from some dealer and/or insurance company policy that must have cost a fortune and may never pay out to my satisfaction. I'd MUCH rather have that money sitting in my bank or in my mattress...anywhere but in those thieves' pockets.

RE: Love it or Hate it?

'99 National SeaBreeze, Ford V 10 chassis....Love It!! But because I bought it three years ago from a dealer there has been many minor things that I had tu fix and am still working on today. My next big project is to try to repaint the lower cargo doors and front and rear bumpers as they are sunfaded. Blue seems to fade faster than any other color I've seen.

RE: Walmart more heart then KOA

I've been camping for about 8 years and only stayed at a KOA once. The one in Saugerties NY during the summer of ,I believe, 2002 The place was so mosquito infested tht they should have called it the "West Nile KOA" also the owner was extremely rude,he literally screamed at me for speeding on his roads ( I was probably doing 20mph in a 15 mph zone) plus he charged my brother and his wife $20 for just dropping by for coffee as it was after 7 PM. I'll never go back.

RE: two questions

If the dash air causes a 10 to 15% drop in mpg and you are travelling at, say. 60 mph. At 60 mph and 9 mpg you will use about 6.7 gal per hour. That means the dash air is increasing your fuel consumption by about .7 gal per hour. I believe that most gensets use about .4 to .5 gals per hour. And the house air will cool the coach much better, at least mine does.
